Who WE Are
Mimar Engineering Consultancy is a consulting group that existed since 1956 under the name: “Gamal Bakry and Associates”. Since the year 1999 it was re-established as a Limited Liability Company (S.A.E.) under the law no. 159, year 1983. This move broadened the firm’s horizon and strength to undertake international consultancies as well as expanding its area of expertise. The founder of the firm, Gamal Bakry (2006-1931) was a leading thinker, philosopher and architect in Egypt and the Arab World. Mimar Engineering Consultancy is proud to lead progressive attitude in Architecture. Its principles are preoccupied with the dilemmas of “tradition and modernity”. We create modern designs that are sensitive to the wealth of Egyptian and Arab heritage. In doing so, we avoid copying forms or elements but we use morphological analysis, metaphorical inspirations and spatial orders that reflect heritage and culture in the essence of our designs. We have designed and constructed a wide variety of buildings that covered a wide range; i.e. private homes and houses, apartment buildings, hotels, shopping centers, banks, office buildings, museums, sports facilities, airports, and the rehabilitation of valuable buildings.
